Air entrainment generates millions of microscopic bubbles, or air pockets, that improve resistance to the freeze-thaw cycle, as well as excess water and certain de-icing products. Air entrained bubbles or voids relieve internal pressure on concrete as water expands, when it freezes.
Used as a mid- and high- range water reducer that maximizes cement hydration efficiency, improves concrete’s early and long term compressive strengths, and improves workability and finishability. In a high dosage, Sika 686 works as a SUPERPLASTICIZER for the production of a high slump for excellent workability.

Synthetic fibers may eliminate the use of wire mesh. Fiber gives consistent, secondary reinforcement throughout the concrete mix and reduces the square foot cost. Fiber does not require the labor associated with wire mesh.
